Terms of Service
Effective September 1, 2026
These terms cover your use of The Cover Charge, operated by Trevor Boardman. Using the service means agreeing to them.
What the service does
The Cover Charge lets a host publish a link with a price on it, and lets a booker pay that price to reserve a meeting. We provide the scheduling, the payment, the video room, and the refund rules. We are not a party to the meeting itself, we do not vet what is discussed, and we do not promise any outcome from it.
Money
- The host sets the price, between $25 and $2,000. The booker pays exactly that.
- We keep 15% of it. Payment processing costs come out of our share, not the host’s.
- The booker is charged when the booking is made. The host is paid after the meeting has taken place, through their own Stripe account.
- Hosts are responsible for their own taxes. Stripe handles the reporting it is required to do.
Refunds
These rules are applied automatically, from the video room’s join log.
- The host does not show up. Full refund to the booker, and a strike against the host.
- The host cancels more than 24 hours ahead. The booker picks another time or takes a full refund.
- The host cancels less than 24 hours ahead. Treated as not showing up, unless the booker accepts another time.
- The booker does not show up, or cancels. No refund.
- Neither side shows up. No refund.
- Anything the log cannot settle — a meeting that ends after ninety seconds, say — goes to “report a problem” in your confirmation email. The usual outcome is a refund to the booker and a note on the host’s record.
- Meetings held off-platform, on a link the host supplies or by phone, have no attendance log and therefore no no-show protection. This is stated before payment.
Two host no-shows within 90 days pause that host’s link until the missed meetings are rescheduled and held.
Conduct
Do not use The Cover Charge to harass anyone, to sell anything illegal, to impersonate someone, or to arrange a meeting whose actual purpose is something other than what the booking says. Hosts must genuinely intend to attend the meetings they sell. We can suspend an account, cancel a booking, or refund a payment where we believe these terms have been broken.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we are not responsible for what is said or agreed in a meeting, or for anything a host or booker does. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees we earned on the booking the claim concerns.
Ending it
You can close your account at any time; bookings already paid for still have to be honoured or refunded. We can end an account for a breach of these terms, and will refund anything outstanding when we do.
Changes, law, and contact
Material changes are emailed to account holders before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA. Questions go to support@thecovercharge.com.
